Vestibular Therapy
Is Dizziness, Nausea, Blurred Vision, or Impaired Balance Preventing You From Driving, Reading, Standing, Walking, or Carrying Out Your Usual Work or Home Tasks?
Vestibular therapy is a distinct rehabilitation approach aimed at enhancing and resolving problems associated with the vestibular system (our inner ear).
The vestibular system is a sophisticated structure responsible for processing information received from the external environment and transmitting it to our brain. When this system is disrupted, our perception and interaction with the world become dysfunctional. The most frequent symptom is dizziness, or vertigo, but dysfunction can also manifest as challenges in changing positions, blurry vision during head movement, feeling unsteady, difficulty maintaining an upright posture, feeling a pull in one direction or another, or an inability to cope with moving objects.
The manifestations of vestibular system dysfunction are numerous and varied, but they all significantly affect our ability to navigate our surroundings. At Body Balance Physical Therapy and Wellness, our therapists have specialized training in the management of vestibular issues. Your therapist will conduct an in-depth evaluation to assess the health of your vestibular system. This will inform the creation of a personalized treatment plan aimed at your specific objectives.
